Educating and illustrating coaches on how to progress the game of water polo with classroom discussions and in the water applications. Being as technical and as descriptive as possible on coaching the players to raise their level of play. Outlining training sessions geared towards 14-18 year old athletes.
1 - How to teach eggbeater, leg strength and positioning.
2 - Movement of the player in the water, with and without partner ( attacker & defender )
3 - How to control ball under pressure and passing under pressure
4 - How to shoot. Leg position. Ball position. With and without defense.
5 - Priorities to learn in water polo as the athlete grows in strength and size
6 - What the athlete needs to learn at 14, 16, 18 to be successful at the senior level and internationally
7 - How to structure a practice for each age level and what is important to keep growth and fun for the athlete
8 - Drills to always run in practice no matter how much time is available
9 - Drills to add to training outside of water polo that will assist the young athlete progress in water polo
10 - What is always important to stress fundamentally during each training session
11 - Learning what the overall goal or each game, each season, each year for the athlete and team
